Be careful when packing cameras and other photography equipment prior to a trip. Double check that you have packed any essential items such as lenses, batteries and cleaning tools. Don’t forget to keep in mind any limitations you have regarding space, and do not pack more equipment than you think you will need.

Remain completely immobile when it’s time to click the shutter to get that ultimate photograph. Any slight movement can ruin a shot. Take a moment before taking the picture to gather your breath and ensure the shot is straight.

Indoor florescent lighting scenes will require white balance adjustments. Fluorescent lighting can cause green or bluish light, so the subject will appear “cooler-toned,” without having to compensate for the fewer red tones from your camera.

Have some fun experimenting with different expressions, perspectives and scales. A simple object can be made artistic if it is portrayed in a setting that makes it look much bigger or smaller than it is, or places it in an original and funny situation. Practice altering your composition in order to see familiar objects in a new way.

While many believe that wearing white in a photograph make them look good, it is actually a bad idea. Cameras that use autofocus try and determine all the different shades that are present within the photograph. Because of this, white clothing will seem pale within the photos.

There are a variety of ways you can transform an okay photo into an awesome picture; you just need to learn them. The possibilities are endless once a camera is involved and there is enough to suit every critic and every preference. Hopefully, you can use this information as an opportunity to try new things and learn more about your artistic abilities.
